2009 OVER VIEW.

2009 was a very busy year, with classes all full to overflowing and many Art Club invites across the North East, Northumberland, Cumbria, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the Borders. I sincerely hope you all enjoyed your Demonstrations and Workshops. Thank you to you all for inviting me and maybe we'll see you again soon in 2010

T
HE FUNNY BRUSH  introduced in November 2008 has proven to be very popular. At the Arts Materials Live show in Birmingham, I demonstrated its magic for 4 days.. they were literally a sell out. If you haven’t yet seen the brushes take a look www.thefunnybrush.com or call me to book a Demonstration.

TEACHING

Happy returning learners are evidence to me that my teaching style & ability are getting results. However for those who like official stuff, after a recent teaching observation I received Grade 1 for Teaching skills. In their words” Grade 1 assessment is a standard reached by very few Adult Learning Tutors. It describes your excellent delivery and is a clear indication of your skills and professionalism. … Your inspirational teaching has the power to change not only lives of your learners but their families, friends and colleagues”… so it’s nice to have a pat on the back.. ..but I get so much pleasure from teaching.. its easy for me.

LEARNING
My learners come in all ages & abilities. As well as my Workshops & Art club work I often underake projects in the community; I love to work hands on with people. Presently I am using my Art influences to try and change the lives of families and Individuals living with Drug & Alcohol addictions. These people who suffer from or live with addiction for so many reasons.. I get HEAPS of pleasure by seeing these people getting so much from their sessions.. lifting confidence and self esteem, it is wonderful to think that Art may just help turn lives around..  and, if I can help … Fantastic!

2010
I am looking forward to the new year and planning some great new activities.

WORLD RECORD PAINTING DAY
Top of the list has to be the WORLD RECORD PAINTING DAY. Just waiting for the all clear to make it official.  So get out you deck chairs and painting kit and join us on 10th July 2010 on the beaches and in the parks of South Shields to create a World Record for the largest number of painters to paint in one place.
Paint, Draw, or sketch one of the lovely views at the coast. Come with your friends and family or out with your Art club have a day out. The event will be held in conjunction with the fabulous Mouth of the Tyne festival so no better time to visit South Shields. There will be an entry fee to take part on the day but All proceeds will be given to charities. Linked to the painting event will be a selection of creative activities for children and adults to take part in so Hopefully the sun might shine but regardless it will happen. Come on join in the fun, help raise loads of money and be part of a World Record event.

MICK KNIGHTON fund (MESOTHELIOMA research into diagnosis & treatment Asbestos Cancer) This charity have worked tirelessly campaigning for better treatment and the rights for drugs and compensation for sufferers and their families. More people die from Mesothelioma than are killed on the road. and the numbers are growing. Tradesmen and Shipbuilders and their Mothers, wives and even Children are victims of this cruel illness.

ART AID provides Writing & Art materials & equipment to poor children in Countries struck by disaster and poverty. Giving them a desk to sit at instead of the floor and the opportunity to learn a skill which will help re-shape their young lives. We take so much for granted and a crayon or pencil is a real treat in some parts of the world.

PICNIC & PAINTING DAYS
A selection of diary dates for those that would like to have an outdoor painting workshop. The idea is bring your paints a picnic and have a fun day painting with tuition as you go.
